Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland (Hospice at Home) provides high quality care and support for adults who have palliative and end of life care needs, whilst also supporting their families/carers.

The following services are available, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Lymphoedema, Complementary Therapy, Family Support and a Befriending Service.  Individuals may access one or a combination of the services.

Care is planned for each patient on an individual basis. The aim is to provide care and support which will improve their quality of life and facilitate a peaceful and dignified death, whilst also supporting their family members/carers throughout this time and following bereavement.

Hospice at Home’s services work together, but also in close conjunction with other professionals in health, social care and voluntary organisations to deliver seamless care.

Hospice at Home is a registered charity which is regulated by both the Charity Commission and the Care Quality Commission. All services provided are confidential and consent is obtained prior to the sharing of any personal information.


There is no financial charge for any service provided by Hospice at Home.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) undertook an inspection of the Hospice at Home Clinical Service in May 2018. The service was rated “Good in All 5 Key Areas” which are safe, caring, effective, responsive and well led.
